Wienerschnitzel Payment Methods

The front of a Wienerschnitzel restaurant.

If you like hot dogs, you might want to visit Wienerschnitzel because hot dogs are this restaurant’s specialty. Wienerschnitzel also sells other entrees such as cheeseburgers, french fries, and ice cream but this restaurant is basically a large hot-dog stand with a drive-thru lane. This business model still distinguishes it from other quick-service restaurants, though. Many fast-food chains specialize in serving burgers or tacos and they often don’t even have hot dogs on their menus at all.

If you’re a vegetarian and you’re looking for a meat-free hot dog, Wienerschnitzel also sells three kinds of veggie dogs. Other hot dog stands in Southern California often serve veggie dogs as well, but again it’s very rare for other types of fast-food restaurants to add veggie dogs to their menus. So if you’re looking for regular hot dogs or veggie dogs, here are the payment methods that this hot dog restaurant accepts.

Does Wienerschnitzel Accept Major Credit Cards?

Wienerschnitzel accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards, but some locations might not accept Discover cards. It does accept both debit cards and credit cards as well as cash. Like other fast-food restaurants, some of its locations might not accept $50 and $100 bills.

Does Wienerschnitzel Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

Wienerschnitzel accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment methods at its restaurants. While it temporarily stopped supporting tap-to-pay a few years ago, I rechecked the Apple Maps profiles of its restaurants in my area in 2024 and they accept contactless payments again now.

Wienerschnitzel also relaunched its mobile apps in 2023 and its apps now support both pickup and delivery orders. Its mobile apps don’t accept Apple Pay or Google Pay, though. If you want to use these payment options at this restaurant, you can also order your meal from a third-party food delivery service that supports them.

Does Wienerschnitzel Accept International Payment Methods?

Some Wienerschnitzel locations might not accept Discover cards, which means that they won’t be able to accept JCB, UnionPay, or RuPay global cards by processing them through the Discover network either.

Does Wienerschnitzel Accept EBT?

Wienerschnitzel accepts EBT at some of its Southern California restaurants but not all of them. I checked the list of Restaurant Meals program participants in several counties and this hot dog restaurant appeared on the lists for Ventura, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties. Restaurants must sign up for the Restaurant Meals program to accept this payment method. Other quick-service restaurants accept EBT in Southern California as well but many of them don’t serve hot dogs.

Wienerschnitzel doesn’t accept EBT for online orders. While it has relaunched its mobile apps and now accepts online orders, like other restaurants it doesn’t participate in the SNAP pilot program that allows you to order food online. This program is primarily used by grocery stores.

Does Wienerschnitzel Offer Its Own Payment Methods?

Wienerschnitzel sells branded gift cards. You can check your gift card balance on the hot dog restaurant’s website.
