Smart & Final is a wholesale grocery store that sells food and supplies in large quantities to restaurants and small businesses. Its grocery stores are still open to the public, though. You can get good deals on bulk purchases at this grocery store, so it’s worth visiting if you have enough space to store your food. Smart & Final also has its own private label brand called First Street. And it also stocks many products that are also available at other grocery stores for similar prices.

It’s also notable that this grocery store doesn’t have automated self-checkouts, unlike other Southern California grocery stores and big-box retailers. It does have cashiers who will bag your groceries, though. Smart & Final is a large grocery store with multiple departments. It has a bakery, a frozen food section, a bulk snacks section, and a produce department like other grocery stores. And like other grocery stores, it accepts many payment methods.

Does Smart & Final Accept Major Credit Cards?

Smart & Final accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards. It accepts both credit cards and debit cards and it also accepts cash.

Does Smart & Final Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

Smart & Final accepts Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay for in-store purchases. It has point-of-sale terminals that accept contactless payments and its store window sign also confirmed this information. It doesn’t accept PayPal or Venmo for in-store purchases, though.

Smart & Final also has both an iPhone app and an Android app. You can apply coupons to purchases you make with these apps. You can also use them to have your groceries delivered to your home. Instacart delivers groceries for Smart & Final as well as many other grocery stores and it does accept PayPal for online orders.

Does Smart & Final Accept International Payment Methods?

Smart & Final accepts Discover cards, so it’s likely that it can also accept JCB and UnionPay cards by processing them through the Discover network. This grocery store can also accept RuPay global cards from Indian banks by using the same process.

Does Smart & Final Accept EBT?

Smart & Final accepts EBT for in-store purchases of qualifying products. Other grocery stores usually accept this payment method as well.

Smart & Final doesn’t accept EBT for online orders. It hasn’t signed up for the SNAP online purchasing pilot program. Costco, which also has lots of small business customers, hasn’t signed up for this program either. Vons and Albertsons have signed up for it, though.

Does Smart & Final Accept CareCredit?

Smart & Final doesn’t accept CareCredit. Its stores don’t have pharmacies. This form of payment is only accepted by a few retail stores and most of them are pharmacies.

Does Smart & Final Accept Buy Now, Pay Later?

You can use Klarna and Zip to pay for online delivery orders from Smart & Final because it has a partnership with Instacart and the delivery service accepts these payment options. Instacart doesn’t accept PayPal credit, though. Smart & Final doesn’t accept Affirm, Afterpay, or Sezzle.

Does Smart & Final Have Its Own Payment Methods?

Smart & Final has its own branded gift cards. Like other grocery stores, it also sells gift cards from third-party businesses.

Smart & Final stocks bulk frozen food in its frozen food section and some of its products are similar to products that restaurants sell for much higher prices. Again, this store is a supplier for many restaurants although it’s open to the public as well.

What Are Smart & Final Alternatives That Accept Apple Pay?

Costco is a wholesale grocery store like Smart & Final and it also offers good deals on bulk purchases. You have to sign up for a membership to shop at Costco’s stores, though. Its stores are not open to the public.

Vons is another grocery store with many Southern California locations. It doesn’t stock as many bulk groceries as Smart & Final, but it sells many of the same products at similar prices.

Albertsons also operates large, traditional grocery stores throughout Southern California. It isn’t a bulk or wholesale retailer either. And it also sells many of the products that are available at Smart & Final.

Grocery Outlet is a discount grocery store that sells some of its products in large quantities. It has lower prices than other grocery stores but if you’re looking for specific products this retailer may not have them. It’s an outlet store, not a traditional grocery store.

Ralphs is a traditional grocery store that has many locations in Southern California. It doesn’t stock as many bulk groceries as Smart & Final either. In some locations it operates premium Ralphs Fresh Fare stores.

Vallarta Supermarkets also operates traditional grocery stores in Southern California. Its stores sell lots of prepared food and they also have indoor dining areas with seats and tables.
