Panda Express Payment Methods

The side of a Panda Express restaurant.

Panda Express is a Chinese quick-service restaurant that you’ll see in malls throughout California. It sells several entrees made with different types of meat, including pork, beef, and chicken. It also sells rice, noodles, and egg rolls. You can order your food on a tray or in a bowl. Panda Express serves dishes that are popular in the US such as Kung Pao chicken.

The experience at this restaurant is similar to the experience at Chipotle or Subway. The restaurant cooks the entrees and side orders beforehand and then stores them in heated metal trays. When you arrive at the restaurant, you can just look at the trays and pick out the items you want. With this setup, the Chinese restaurant can prepare your meal very quickly. If you know what you want to order and there’s no line it might only take a minute to complete your order. Panda Express even has drive-thru locations, although I haven’t visited any of its drive-thru restaurants myself. Here are the payment methods you can use at Panda Express.

Does Panda Express Accept Major Credit Cards?

Panda Express accepts Visa, American Express, Discover, and Mastercard. It accepts both debit cards and credit cards.

Panda Express also accepts cash at its restaurants. You can also use cash to pay for delivery orders from this restaurant because it has a partnership with DoorDash and this delivery service accepts cash on delivery as a payment method. You can pay with a $50 or $100 bill at Panda Express as well, which is noteworthy because many other restaurants don’t accept large bills.

Does Panda Express Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

Panda Express accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment methods at its restaurants. I confirmed this information by looking up the Apple Maps profiles of several of its restaurants in my area.

Panda Express also accepts Venmo and PayPal at its restaurants and this information was confirmed by the restaurant’s window sticker. This is noteworthy because it’s uncommon for a restaurant to accept these payment options, although drugstores and gas stations frequently accept PayPal for in-store purchases.

Panda Express also has an iPhone app and an Android app that you can use to make pickup and delivery orders. It also accepts Apple Pay for mobile orders.

Does Panda Express Accept International Payment Methods?

Panda Express accepts Discover cards so it’s likely that it can also accept JCB and UnionPay cards by processing them through the Discover network. It can also accept RuPay global cards by using the same method.

Does Panda Express Accept EBT?

Panda Express doesn’t accept EBT at its Southern California restaurants. I checked the Restaurant Meals program participant lists for Ventura, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties and didn’t see this restaurant on those lists. Restaurants have to sign up for this program to accept EBT. If you’re looking for an alternative, Yoshinoya accepts EBT at many of its Southern California restaurants, so if you plan to pay with EBT you can go to Yoshinoya. WaBa Grill and Teriyaki Madness also accept EBT at some of their restaurants in Southern California.

Does Panda Express Offer Its Own Payment Methods?

Panda Express sells branded gift cards. On its website, you can also purchase Panda Express e-gift cards. The gift cards have an image of the restaurant’s panda bear mascot on their front side.

This restaurant also allows you to split payments between gift cards and credit cards for mobile orders, so you can easily use up your entire gift card balance.

What’s Another Useful Fact About Panda Express?

You can eat a vegan meal at this restaurant. It removed the animal products from a few of its side orders and it also serves an eggplant-based entree. Some of its competitors have more vegan options, though.

What Panda Express Alternatives Accept Apple Pay?

WaBa Grill is an Asian fusion restaurant that serves many of the same entrees and sides that you can order at Panda Express. Panda Express could also be considered an Asian fusion restaurant because its meals are designed for American palates. And WaBa Grill accepts Apple Pay.

Teriyaki Madness is a fast-casual Japanese restaurant that serves teriyaki bowls. Its entrees are made to order.
