Dave and Buster’s Payment Methods

A Dave and Buster's restaurant.

If you’re feeling nostalgic about visiting arcades as a child and want to visit one again while drinking alcoholic beverages as well, you might want to visit Dave and Buster’s. This entertainment center and restaurant has games like air hockey and skee ball as well as traditional video games. It’s like Chuck E. Cheese for grownups. Anyway, here are the payment methods you can use at Dave and Buster’s.

Does Dave and Buster’s Accept Major Credit Cards?

Dave and Buster’s accepts debit cards and credit cards. But in 2024 some of its in-store kiosks stopped accepting cash. Many customers prefer to pay with their credit cards at this restaurant and entertainment center, though, because they can earn credit card rewards this way.

Does Dave and Buster’s Accept Mobile Payment Methods?

Dave and Buster’s accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and other contactless payment options at its entertainment centers. Sometimes it also runs special promotions that give you additional rewards for reloading its prepaid cards with Apple Pay.

It’s also possible to put a Dave and Buster’s virtual card into a mobile wallet so you can use your mobile wallet to pay for the video games inside its entertainment centers instead of using the reloadable plastic card. If you plan to do this, select the virtual card as the payment method in your mobile wallet.

Dave and Buster’s also has mobile apps that accept Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on which type of smartphone you have. You can also qualify for special promotional offers by using these mobile wallets to reload cards on its apps. These apps don’t accept PayPal, though.

Does Dave and Buster’s Accept International Payment Methods?

Like other restaurants, Dave and Buster’s can probably accept JCB, UnionPay, and RuPay global cards by processing them through the Discover network.

Does Dave and Buster’s Accept EBT?

Dave and Buster’s doesn’t accept EBT at its Southern California restaurants and entertainment centers. I checked the Restaurant Meals program participant lists for Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties and I didn’t see it on those lists. That’s not surprising because it’s basically a casual-dining restaurant, sports bar, and arcade. Similar establishments usually do not accept EBT, although there are lots of fast-food restaurants in Southern California that accept it.

Does Dave and Buster’s Have Its Own Payment Methods?

While old-school arcade games typically accepted tokens and quarters, Dave and Buster’s uses reloadable prepaid cards called power cards that use chips, its in-house currency. You can reload these power cards on its apps or at the in-store kiosks at its entertainment centers.

It also has power tap lanyards and wands that function like its reloadable prepaid cards, which is noteworthy. Many restaurants and stores have reloadable plastic cards and virtual cards, but they don’t have other payment wearables like Dave and Buster’s does. Apple does sell other wearables that support Apple Pay, though, such as its watch.

Dave and Buster’s also sells branded gift cards. It’s a popular establishment so its cards are often sold by third-party retailers such as supermarkets and drugstores as well.

What Are Alternatives to Dave and Buster’s That Accept Apple Pay?

Chuck E. Cheese is an entertainment venue and pizzeria that has animatronic music shows as well as video games. Unlike Dave and Buster’s, it’s designed for kids, but it’s one of the few other restaurant-arcade venues.

Applebee’s is a casual-dining restaurant that sells inexpensive margaritas. It doesn’t have arcades, though, although if you visit a location at a mall the mall may have an arcade.

Buca di Beppo is an Italian casual-dining restaurant that has entertaining decorations so you might also want to go there if you want entertainment as well as a meal.

Chili’s is a Tex-Mex restaurant and sports bar that has Ziosk tablets where you can play video games while you’re waiting for your meal.

TGI Friday’s is another casual-dining restaurant that serves alcoholic beverages and has interesting décor. It’s not an arcade either, though.
